Jan 2015 - Let Me ACTS You a Question - Web Graphic

So what next? Jesus promised the Holy Spirit, and the disciples/early Church experienced the coming of the Holy Spirit, but what’s next? How does it affect us today? These questions are exactly what we’ll be challenging our students with tonight. We want them to understand that they have the exact same opportunity that the early Church had when the Holy Spirit first came.

Access to the Holy Spirit is equal to all of us, once we have a relationship with Christ, but every day we have to call upon the Holy Spirit to fill us anew. Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is something that we must continue to maintain, almost like a fire in the middle of the forest. We must continue to ask the Holy Spirit to help us feed the fire so that it does not fade out in our lives.

This week we want to present this to our students as something that should be important to them. This power that the Holy Spirit offers us is something that we want each of our students to be aware of, and conscious of. This may be a week filled with tough questions, but embrace it this week!

Here are the follow-up questions that our students will be discussing in small groups:

Question 1: Can you think of anything in your life that you constantly have to maintain? Is it worth the time to maintain it in the end?

Question 2: Do you think it’s worth they effort to maintain a relationship with the Holy Spirit in your life? Why or why not?

Question 3: What types of things in your life do you think can happen when you constantly maintain the Holy Spirit in your life?

Question 4: How do you plan on allowing the Holy Spirit to take over the way that you tell people about Christ?

Question 5: How can you encourage each other in your small group to maintain the Holy Spirit in your lives weekly?

Out Key Verse:

2 All at once there was a sound from heaven like a powerful wind. It filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then they saw tongues which were divided that looked like fire. These came down on each one of them. 4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they began to speak in other languages which the Holy Spirit made them able to speak.

Acts 2:2-4

Thank you so much for investing in the lives of your Jr Highs each week!
